Heritage Open Days 2025
The Heritage Open Days for 2025 will take place in Godalming on 13th & 14th September 2025.

Ticketing arrangements have changed this year. Please do not contact Godalming Museum as they are no longer issuing tickets. Full details appear in the August issue of Vantage Point magazine and the Heritage Open Days Brochure.

Note: Unfortunately, although the Pepperpot is included in the published programme, it will not be open this year due to ongoing emergency work.

St Nicholas Peper Harow – 13th September – The time of the guided tour of the church has had to be changed and is now at 2.30pm.

All those who were successful in obtaining tickets for Heritage Open Days events have been sent a confirmation by email. There are still tickets available for Rake Court and 3 Church Street and they can be applied for on the Godalming Town Council website. They will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. There is also an event at Prior’s Field who have their own booking system. Details of both booking systems are in the Heritage Open Days Brochure (see above). There are also plenty of events over the weekend to which you can just turn up. All events are free.

Further details are also available on the website www.heritageopendays.org.uk.

Godalming Town Guided History Walks Summer 2025

Come along and learn about the town’s fascinating and sometimes surprising history.  We will look at the buildings and landscape for clues about Godalming’s past.

There are two walks alternating throughout the summer.  The first looks at the town’s ‘industrial’ past (walk 1) whereas the second looks at the towns former coaching inns and their role, and the High Street and Bridge Street (walk 2).

On previous walks, participants have added some interesting comments about the town’s history, to the benefit of us all.

The walks are both relatively easy walking on the public footpaths around the town and usually take about 1½ hours each. No booking is required, the walks are free, just turn up at the Pepperpot at 2.30pm.

The dates for this year are the following Saturdays:

May 10th - Walk 1

June 14th - Walk 2

July 12th - Walk 1

August 9th- Walk 2 - Owing to an event in the High Street we may need to change the route of this walk. We will do a walk though it may vary from that previously advertised.

ALSO

September 14th  - Part of Heritage Open Days - A guided history walk around Godalming looking at its wider and sometimes surprising heritage through its buildings. Starting opposite the Pepperpot on SUNDAY at 10.30am.

Please check on the Godalming Trust website https://www.thegodalmingtrust.org.uk/ for any updates to this programme.
